The penultimate stop of the 2025 EMX Championship season delivered everything fans could hope for and more as the sandy, rain-hardened circuit of the KymiRing in Finland hosted rounds for both EMX125 and EMX250 classes. With titles hanging in the balance, each moto carried tension, drama, and moments of pure brilliance.
EMX125
Italian sensation Nicolò Alvisi once again demonstrated why he leads the 2025 EMX125 Championship with a hard-fought victory in Finland. Despite heavy pressure from Frenchman Mano Faure, Alvisi kept his composure throughout both motos and extended his lead in the standings.
Moto 1 was a showcase of dominance by Alvisi, who took the holeshot and never looked back. Faure attempted to close the gap, but ultimately settled for second. Niccolò Mannini rounded out the podium after a strong ride through the field.
In Moto 2, Faure pushed hard, briefly taking the lead, but a small mistake mid-race allowed Alvisi back through. The pair battled until the final lap, with Alvisi once again emerging victorious.
Elsewhere in the field, Riccardo Pini, Jekabs Kublins, Dean Gregoire, and home hero Matias Miettinen impressed the crowd with consistent top-10 finishes. Bertram Thorius, Dante Lantz, and Moritz Ernecker also showed great promise, while Hugo Bergqvist and John August Fredrik Karleyel gave the Finnish fans plenty to cheer for.
With just a few rounds to go, Alvisi now holds a 9-point lead over Faure in the standings, with Mannini still in mathematical contention.
EMX250
Hungarian rider Noël Zanócz claimed his first overall win of the season in dominant fashion in Finland, delivering a 1-1 performance that was unmatched all weekend. While the win didn’t change the red plate ownership, it firmly established Zanócz as a threat in the title hunt.
Championship leader Janis Martins Reišulis continued his consistent form with a third-place overall, finishing 2nd in Moto 1 and 3rd in Moto 2. The Latvian rider didn’t take big risks, focusing instead on maintaining his lead in the standings.
Nicolai Skovbjerg also impressed with 2-2 scores, finishing runner-up to Zanócz on the day.
Notable rides came from Liam Owens, Bradley Mesters, and Ivano van Erp, who were in the mix in both motos. Mads Fredsøe and Gyan Doensen also posted competitive lap times, while Håkon Østerhagen, Markuss Kokins, and Sampo Rainio brought strong mid-pack performances.
With just two rounds remaining, Reišulis continues to lead the championship, now 14 points ahead of Garcia, with Zanócz closing in quickly.
