Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle will sit out this weekend’s Pro Motocross Championship round at Washougal after sustaining a hard crash during last Saturday’s event at Spring Creek. The impact left the 250SX East Champion nursing soreness in both his knee and shoulder, preventing him from training this week.
Vialle had a solid start to the day in Millville, finishing sixth in the opening 250MX moto. However, his second moto was cut short after he went down entering the sand whoops on the first lap, forcing him to retire from the race.
After evaluating his condition alongside the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, Vialle has opted to skip Round 8 in Washington. The decision allows him to rest and recover ahead of the two-week break, with plans to return for Round 9 at Ironman Raceway on August 9.
“It’s always tough to sideline one of our riders,” said Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager. “Tom’s had a strong season so far, and while we love having him out on the track, his well-being comes first. We support his choice to take a step back this weekend so he can come back fully fit and ready to push for podiums in the final rounds.”
Currently, Vialle sits fifth in the 250MX Championship standings after seven rounds, highlighted by two runner-up overall finishes at High Point and Southwick. He’s also ranked third in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) standings, maintaining strong form across the 2024 season.
